A Very Special Giraffe Arrival
For the second time in almost 20 years, Melbourne Zoo is celebrating the birth of a giraffe calf. Born to mum Iris and dad Klintun, the new addition joins Tambi who was born in August last year.
The new arrival is also wonderful news for the herd’s social dynamic, with the herd's two mums supporting each other as they care for their calves, their little ones growing up together – learning, playing and exploring side by side.
Play and Learn with Keeper Kids
Keeper Kids offers playful, educator‑led activities designed especially for children aged 0–5 years.
Led by qualified Early Childhood Educators, daily weekday sessions during the school term include Nature Play and Storytime, which help spark curiosity and nurture imagination, language and connection to wildlife. A parents’ room is available for feeding, changing and recharging. No bookings required.
